Wednesday 13 and The Birthday Massacre are scheduled to appear on 28 November 2026 at Bal Chavaux in Montreuil. On one side, Canadians The Birthday Massacre, formed in the late 1990s and led by Chibi’s clear voice, blend distorted guitars, ’80s keyboards and synth-driven melodies. Straddling electronic rock, synthpop and gothic rock, their songs play on contrast: pop choruses up front, darker atmospheres underneath. From early records Nothing and Nowhere and Violet to Fascination, the band has refined a distinctive sound, steeped in images of dark fairy tales and a gothic aesthetic that translates into a direct, effective live presence.
Opposite them, Wednesday 13 condenses the horror-punk universe imagined by Joseph Poole, who passed through Murderdolls before fronting under his own name. Straightforward riffs, earworm choruses and B-movie imagery: the set moves through heavy metal, punk and glam flashes with a tight-knit band. From the debut Transylvania 90210 to Horrifier, Wednesday 13 lines up songs built for the stage, mixing nods to horror cinema with full-on, frontal energy. With The Birthday Massacre, the evening shifts between luminous melodies and gothic shadows, carried by the same electric current.
