Info
The Lemonheads bring their Boston-born alternative rock to Albert Hall, Manchester on 7 October 2026. Led by Evan Dando since the mid-80s, the band has moved from punk and college rock beginnings to a melodic blend of power pop, jangle and folk shades. Live, they range from the punch of early material to the clearer guitar lines and acoustic turns that shaped It’s a Shame About Ray and Come On Feel the Lemonheads, with space for the darker edges of Car Button Cloth and the curated covers of the Varshons era. A fluid line-up has long circled Dando’s writing, and the set centres on that mix of clean guitars, sharp choruses and stripped-back detours.
Willy Mason opens with a folk rock approach that folds blues and country into a deep, steady voice and unadorned guitar work. From Where the Humans Eat through If the Ocean Gets Rough and Carry On to 2021’s Already Dead, his songs favour direct storytelling and a grounded pulse, setting a tone that pairs easily with The Lemonheads’ melodic sway.
