On 12 September 2026 at Portsmouth Guildhall, Marillion take the stage with the long-running chemistry that has shaped their progressive rock path. Formed in late-70s Aylesbury, the band first broke through in the early 80s with Fish and albums like Script for a Jester’s Tear, Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood, mixing narrative songs and extended forms. The arrival of Steve Hogarth at the end of the decade opened a more introspective chapter, from Seasons End to Brave, with the stable lineup of Steve Rothery, Mark Kelly, Pete Trewavas and Ian Mosley shaping a sound that moves between rock, atmospheric pop and contemporary textures. Early adopters of fan-supported projects, Marillion built a direct link with their audience that still drives recent records such as Marbles, F E A R and An Hour Before It’s Dark.
Haunt the Woods join the bill for this Portsmouth date, adding another voice to the evening alongside Marillion’s expansive songwriting.
