Info
Teenage Fanclub bring their melodic, guitar-driven indie rock to New Century, Manchester, on 7 November 2026. Formed near Glasgow in 1989, the band has shaped a sound where interlaced guitars and understated vocal harmonies carry songs with steady tempos and clean, unforced hooks. From the rough edges of A Catholic Education to the more crafted Bandwagonesque, Thirteen, Grand Prix and Songs from Northern Britain, they draw a line between 70s American pop and British indie without leaning on excess.
Across Howdy!, Man-Made and Shadows, then Here, the group kept its collective approach to writing and singing. Since Gerard Love’s departure in 2018, Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley have steered the band with the same measured touch, heard on Endless Arcade and Nothing Lasts Forever. On stage, that translates into tight arrangements, twin guitars that breathe rather than blaze, and harmonies that lift the choruses without showiness. A set built on clarity, restraint and songcraft, revisiting key moments of a catalogue that still sounds close and direct.
