Info
On 29 May 2026, James Morrison brings his soul-tinged pop to Wolverhampton, on stage at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls. Raised between Warwickshire, Cornwall and the open-mic circuit, he shaped a rough-edged, warm voice that sits somewhere between British soul, acoustic folk and light rock. Since Undiscovered (2006) and Songs for You, Truths for Me (2008), his writing has stayed close to melody, with guitar and piano at the core, shifting from tender ballads to mid-tempo rhythm and blues.
The Awakening, Higher Than Here and You’re Stronger Than You Know have pushed that path a little further, opening the production without breaking the direct, song-first approach. Live, Morrison leans into this simplicity: grainy vocal upfront, arrangements built to breathe, and a feel that moves naturally from hush to lift. Years of collaborations with Nelly Furtado, Jason Mraz, Jessie J and Joss Stone sharpened his ear for duet and call-and-response, but the center stays the same: clear hooks, unvarnished emotion and a straight line from lyric to audience.
