Info
You Said Strange develops music at the crossroads of post-punk, psychedelic rock, and a dark, hypnotic pop. Abrasive guitars, rhythmic tension, vocal harmonies, and mounting crescendos shape a universe that is melancholic, intense, and immersive. A sonic identity that grows stronger on stage, through raw and instinctive performances.
Originating from Normandy, the band has built itself over the years, both in the studio and on the road, gradually developing an audience well beyond French borders. You Said Strange has toured extensively across Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America, playing festivals such as Levitation, Austin Psych Fest, SXSW, Treefort, Fuzz Club Festival, and Beauregard, and recording two live sessions for Seattle radio KEXP.
Their journey has also led them to collaborate with artists and producers such as Peter Holmström (The Dandy Warhols), Yarol Poupaud, Daniel James Goodwin, Anthony Cazade, or Darko, while asserting, album after album, a distinctive identity within the independent rock scene.
On January 21, 2027 at the Bal Chavaux, the band will present on stage the project TV Martyr's Live, a full-scale version of the group conceived as a live production around its repertoire: expanded lineup, reimagined arrangements, walls of cathode-ray televisions, video creation, and lighting.
