Info
On July 17, 2027, Scarborough Open Air Theatre hosts a night built around three names that helped shape glossy, dance-ready pop.
Bananarama take the spotlight with the hit-packed run that made them a staple from the early ’80s onwards. Born out of London’s punk and post-punk fringes before locking into sharp pop hooks and club rhythms, the group’s story runs through bright choruses, synth lines and that unmistakable blend of new wave and dance-pop. Expect the signature mix that spans their classic era and the duo years led by Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward.
Jason Donovan brings his late-’80s pop touch: clean melodies, SAW-style production DNA and big singalong choruses that helped him cross from TV fame into chart-friendly synth-pop and ballads.
Altered Images add a Scottish new wave angle, pairing wiry guitars with punchy, melodic songwriting, shaped around Clare Grogan’s clear vocal and the band’s quick, hook-first energy.
