Info
Ax and the Hatchetmen arrive in Paris on May 9, 2027 at La Bellevilloise for their first French show, which promises to be a densely packed night. Formed in Chicago in 2018 around singer and guitarist Axel Ellis, the band moves as a tight-knit outfit, with a lineup that breaks from the classic rock format: guitars, a rhythm section, and above all brass (trumpet, sax) that broadens the sound and gives a real signature to the tracks. Nourished by jazz training yet not content to stay tame, they fuse indie rock, power pop, soul and funk, with hooks that stick and a stage-ready band energy. After honing their craft on the local scene and on tour, they released a string of records culminating in So Much to Tell You (2025, on Arista Records), produced by Jake Sinclair, featuring tracks such as "Hotel Room" and "Blurry Lights," where Albert Hammond Jr. lends his touch. In Paris, one will finally see this collective machine take full hold on stage.
