Since the release of 'Kufferten fuld af mursten' in 2019, Claus Hempler has performed to sold-out crowds across the country. But it was already as a very young man that Claus Hempler cemented his name as a singer in the band Fielfraz. Since then he has released a handful of clearly defined solo albums.
It was as if this mature, established singer burst forth as a brand-new name with the 2019 release. For the first time he wrote in Danish, and that gave new life to the music. Songs such as 'Jeg drømmer om en sang', 'Op' and 'Navnet er Hempler' are streamed and still played on the radio. Building on these songs—and perhaps more new ones finding space on the setlist—Hempler and his band will embark on a tour in September.
Claus Hempler received in January 2020 two awards at Steppeulven (Album of the Year and Lyricist of the Year). In addition, he won in 2020 two Carl prizes (Composer of the Year and Lyricist of the Year) and is also the recipient of both the Dan Túrell Medal and the F.P. Jac's Memorial Grant.
