Info
This event will take place in EartH Theatre.
Oi Va Voi will perform at EartH Hackney in October, as part of a series of events in East London marking the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street, one of the most defining moments in British Jewish history.
EartH originally opened as the Savoy Cinema in 1936, The same year as The Battle of Cable Street. The East End of London remains an area steeped in British Jewish history and the show will celebrate that history.
The London band have spent over two decades blending Jewish and East European sounds with UK songwriting sensibility, electronic production and club rhythms. Formed at the dawn of the millennium, they made an instant impact with their debut album Laughter Through Tears, a double winner at the BBC World Music Awards and listed in The New York Times Top 10 albums of the year. Over a series of acclaimed albums and electrifying live shows across Europe, they have built a reputation as a magnetic live experience that transcends genre and defies categorisation. Their 2025 album The Water's Edge draws on all the elements that have defined the band, delivering their signature sound with greater depth and a heartfelt message of shared humanity.
