On February 19, 2027, at Manchester Academy, Basement bring their UK-bred blend of pop-punk urgency and alt-rock weight back into the spotlight. Since the late 2000s, the band has been working that sweet spot between clean, hooky melodies and guitars that hit hard, with emo tension, grunge grit, and bursts of melodic-hardcore energy. From the early punch of Songs About the Weather through Colourmeinkindness and the post-hiatus run that includes Further Sky, Promise Everything and Beside Myself, their songs live on dynamic shifts: quiet pressure, then a sudden surge, always built for a room full of people singing and shoving in equal measure.
Joining them on the bill, Fleshwater land in Manchester with a sound that sits right where shoegaze haze meets post-hardcore impact. Formed in Boston in 2017 and shaped by Marisa Shirar’s voice, they lean into dense saturation, big choruses and sharp contrasts, first mapped out on We’re Not Here to Be Loved and pushed further on 2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky. Expect a set that moves between soft-focus melodies and blunt-force riffs without losing its grip.
