Grupo Niche has spent more than four decades honing a Colombian salsa that is instantly recognizable from the first blast of brass: a wide wind section, Afro-Caribbean percussion at the forefront, and a vocal and choral arrangement that makes every track sound communal and street-ready. Founded by Jairo Varela and closely tied to the Cali scene, the orchestra has learned to move between hard salsa, more romantic moments, and songs that portray cities and urban life without losing its grip on the dance floor.
In its repertoire, classics that are already part of the salsa vocabulary sit alongside more recent phases such as “40”, “Niche Sinfónico” and the album “Más Que Palabras”, which maintain that blend of rhythmic precision and choral refrains. On Thursday, October 1, 2026, they arrive in Madrid with the “Niche Disco Tour”, at the Palacio Vistalegre Arena, to revisit a career made for the live stage.
