Info
Contemporary soul singer with a powerful voice forged in New York, Nao Yoshioka blends her modern style with the deep roots of soul. Born in Japan and moving to New York on her own, it was a Sam Cooke song that sparked her passion to create music that touches people.
Her soulful timbre, often compared to Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, reflects both strength and resilience.
Nao's live performances have gone viral, with one of her videos surpassing 4.9 million views. She has headlined Blue Note New York and the London Jazz Café, and has performed at festivals such as Java Jazz and the Capital Jazz Fest.
As the first Japanese artist to reach No. 32 on Billboard's UAC chart, she has collaborated with artists such as John Batiste, Nathan East, Eric Roberson, and Blue Lab Beats.
In 2024, Nao released her fifth album, Flow, and embarked on a European tour. The following year, she performed on the East Coast of the United States, at Blue Note Beijing and Shanghai, and headlined the Northern International Audio & Visual Show in Malaysia before returning to Europe. She closed 2025 with a North American tour and a performance at Missy Lane's Block Party in Durham.
