This Rap School evening at La Manufacture will surely take you back to the 1980s. Assassin is a French hip-hop group founded in Paris in the mid-1980s. A pioneer of conscious and independent hip-hop, the group established itself from its early days with unrestricted lyrics, socially engaged texts, and artistic independence. The first group to go gold independently in French rap through its label Assassin Productions, Assassin became one of the first to produce and distribute its music autonomously, leaving a mark on the history of French rap. The group became an influence on this culture in France and around the world. In 2026, the group makes its return with a new album, faithful to its militant, creative DNA and its artistic standards.
