Info
On December 16, 2026, Damien Dempsey takes over Vicar Street in Dublin with the kind of show that feels like a close-up conversation as much as a gig. The Dublin songwriter has built his voice on everyday stories and Ireland’s social reality, mixing folk roots, Irish tradition, acoustic ballads and the occasional reggae sway. Sung straight in his own accent, his songs move between street-level chronicle, historical memory and a rough, open spirituality, mostly in English with touches of Irish.
From early landmarks like “Dublin Town” and They Don’t Teach This Shit in School through Seize the Day, Shots and To Hell or Barbados, right up to Hold Your Joy (2024), Dempsey’s setlists tend to connect old and new without forcing it. Expect a night driven by lyrics first, carried by warmth, grit, and that singalong pull he’s known for on stages across Ireland and beyond.
