Info

If you grew up with trip-hop that lingered between pop and electronica, you surely know Hooverphonic. Formed in 1995 in Belgium around Alex Callier and Raymond Geerts, the group quickly widened its playground: hushed beats, meticulously crafted melodies, dream-pop textures, and often cinematic arrangements. The track "2Wicky", spotted from the first album A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, laid the foundations of a sound that was at once elegant and accessible.

Over the course of the records, from Blue Wonder Power Milk to The Magnificent Tree and then Jackie Cane, Hooverphonic embraced a broader format, sometimes orchestral, without losing the taste for atmospheres and choruses that linger. After several vocal changes, Geike Arnaert returned in 2020, ahead of Eurovision 2021 with "The Wrong Place" and a string of recent releases. On January 15, 2027, the "30 Years Anniversary Tour" will stop at the Centre Gérard Philipe in Calais, an opportunity to revisit three decades of tracks between nocturnal pop and trip-hop.
