Guus Meeuwis comes to AFAS Live in Amsterdam on 6 November 2026 for an evening of Dutch-language pop that sits close to everyday life. Since breaking through in the 1990s with Het is een nacht… (Lifelike), Meeuwis has been crafting songs that rely mainly on clear melodies, warm chords, and refrains you quickly sing along to. First with Vagant, later under his own name, he remained faithful to that direct sound: acoustic ballads, mid-tempo songs, and lyrics that begin small but often end in a collective sing-along moment.
Over the years his repertoire grew alongside him, with albums such as Hemel nr. 7, Armen open, Hollandse meesters, Geluk, Deel Zoveel and more recently Uit het hoofd. Meeuwis is strongly connected with Brabant and his 'Groots met een zachte G' concert series, but on stage the focus remains on the same core: accessible songs, a band that keeps things light, and a set that shifts effortlessly between intimate and exuberant.
