Hindley Street Country Club, or HSCC, lands at Symphony Hall (Birmingham) on 23 April 2027 with its distinctive formula: a collective of studio musicians gathered around bassist and producer Constantine Delo, who brings pop, rock, soul and funk classics to life on stage. Born in 2017, the project first took shape in a “live” in-studio configuration, with performances recorded in a single take, before gaining momentum in concerts, in Australia and then internationally.
The heart of the show is the art of the cover performed as if by a real band: a solid pop-soul rhythm section, melodic guitars, keyboards prominently present, sometimes brass, and a regular rotation of guest vocalists who change the colour of a track from one to the next. On the programme, tracks from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, but also newer pieces, balancing respect for the original structures with discreet rearrangements, crafted for the energy of live performances.
