Twin Atlantic head to the Boiler Shop in Newcastle upon Tyne on 18 October 2026 with this Glasgow-born alternative rock that goes straight ahead, hooks quickly and loves tight choruses. Since their first steps in the late 2000s, the band has grown its set-up: guitars always at the fore and a nervy energy, but with a sound that has become more expansive and more upfront across the records, up to the more modern and abrasive turns of their recent releases. On stage, the core of Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae steers the ship, buoyed by a driving rhythm section and a direct sense of song.
The Xcerts open the evening with their long-running journey, born in Aberdeen before settling as a trio. From a rougher start, they have slid toward melodic alternative rock, somewhere between indie rock and power pop, with clean guitars and songs crafted to build tension without losing the thread. A perfect warm-up for a Scottish bill that leans on efficiency and intensity.
