Info
Nick Hakim brings his shape-shifting soul to Village Underground in London on 28 October 2026. The Washington, D.C.-born, New York-based singer and producer has carved a singular path between neo-soul, psychedelic touches and dreamy R&B, with a supple voice and slow-blooming, textured arrangements. From the early self-released EPs Where Will We Go (Part I & II) to his debut album Green Twins, he’s built songs that drift and smolder rather than rush, opening space for grain, hiss and melody to breathe.
With Will This Make Me Good, Hakim pushed further into introspective, collage-like forms, then linked up with Roy Nathanson and Onyx Collective for Small Things, grounding his music in a New York scene where jazz, soul and improvisation meet. Cometa continued that thread with lighter, more organic writing. On stage, Hakim tends to stretch time, letting grooves loosen and harmonies blur, a sensibility shaped by collaborations with artists like Terence Nance, Erykah Badu, Lil Yachty and Adrianne Lenker. Expect a set that drifts from hazy early cuts to the open-air warmth of Cometa.
