Info
Ben plg will perform at Le Douze in Cergy on January 16, 2027. Born in Villeneuve-d’Ascq and raised in Tourcoing, Thomas Léger develops a French rap rooted in reality, at the crossroads of street rap, introspection and more melodic touches. He began in 2012 as Ben l’Oncle Rap, shortened his moniker, and later became BEN plg as a nod to his project Pour la gloire (2019). Before that, he put out early DIY releases that reveal a determination to write authentically: Saucisses Merguez (2013), Saucisses Merguez Musique (2015) and the EP Couilles de Loup (2017).
With Dans nos yeux (2020) and Parcours accidenté (2021) he honed a direct, precise pen, nourished by everyday social and urban life. He gained wider recognition in 2022 via Nouvelle École, then followed with Mauvaise nouvelle, the EP series Réalité Rap Musique, and the albums J’rêve mieux qu’avant (2023), Dire je t’aime (2024) and Paraît que les miracles n’existent pas (2025). On stage his rap alternates roughness and melody, grounded, human-scale stories, straightforward flows and memorable hooks. Having collaborated with Bekar, Georgio, Niro and Zed Yun Pavarotti, he returns here solo with a set designed for intimacy, ranging from dark bangers to stripped-down moments. At Le Douze, it’s his writing that leads the way, without detour.
