Info

On December 1, 2026, Ibeyi perform at Sala But in Madrid as part of the MAZO series. Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Díaz, Franco‑Cuban twin sisters born in Paris and raised between Havana and France, blend soul, contemporary R&B, downtempo, trip‑hop and electronic pop with Yoruba and Afro‑Cuban rhythms. On stage, Lisa‑Kaindé provides vocals and piano; Naomi handles the percussion, from the cajón to the batá drums. They alternate between English, French, Spanish and Yoruba, building bridges between the ritual and a restrained‑pulse electronic sound.

Their trajectory includes the Oya EP (2014), their self‑titled debut (2015) noted for its refined songwriting, Ash (2017) with collaborators such as Kamasi Washington and Mala Rodríguez, and Spell 31 (2022), a more direct record featuring Pa Salieu and Jorja Smith. They also composed Recurring Dream (2021) for film and appeared in the Lemonade visual project.

In Madrid, the duo puts together a set that condenses their family heritage — that of Cuban percussionist Anga Díaz and singer Maya Dagnino — with precise production: vocals front and center, piano and drums conversing with electronic textures and measured tempos. It is an occasion to follow closely the development of their hybrid musical language.
