The Rasmus

On 13 February 2027, The Rasmus will play Le Moloco in Audincourt. Formed in Helsinki in 1994, the quartet led by Lauri Ylönen first drew attention with a rock sound steeped in funk, punk and alternative pop on Peep, Playboys and Hellofatester, before tightening their songwriting toward a more melodic and darker tone with Into. Outside Finland, the band made its mark with Dead Letters and the single In the Shadows, a milestone in an aesthetic that blends alternative rock, pop rock and hard rock with gothic overtones. They then explored more electronic textures on Black Roses, The Rasmus, Dark Matters and Rise, while pursuing occasional collaborations ranging from the world of Apocalyptica to the voice of Anette Olzon.

Since 2022, Emilia Suhonen’s guitar has taken over from Pauli Rantasalmi—the same year The Rasmus represented Finland at Eurovision with Jezebel. On stage, Ylönen’s instantly recognisable voice, the taut guitars and a precise rhythmic section span two decades of material, from their early bursts to recent songs. It is an opportunity to gauge the evolution of a band that likes to juxtapose dark melodies, sharp riffs and pop flourishes, in a live format tailored to intimate venues.
