SiM bring their hybrid of metalcore, nu metal and alternative rock, laced with ska-punk skank, reggae/dub grooves and hip-hop cadences, to SWG3 Glasgow on 20 January 2027. Formed in 2004 around vocalist MAH and settled as a quartet since 2009 with guitarist SHOW-HATE, bassist SIN and drummer GODRi, the Japanese band has honed a tight, volatile sound where jagged riffs and stop-start rhythms crash into melodic refrains. Across records from Silence iz Mine and Seeds of Hope to Pandora and The Beautiful People, then the harder-edged Thank God, There Are Hundreds of Ways to Kill Enemies, the Beware EP and Playdead, they keep shifting gears without losing bite. Their themes lean dark and restless, but the set balances intensity with bounce, slipping from breakdowns to offbeat upstrokes and dub dives. Recent singles The Rumbling and Under the Tree, tied to Attack on Titan, opened new doors; live, those tracks sit easily beside older cuts, stitched together by MAH’s bark-and-croon delivery and a rhythm section on a razor’s edge.
