Hawkwind

Hawkwind return to Bristol Beacon on 13 June 2026 for a set that spans their six decades of space rock. Formed in 1969 around Dave Brock, the group fused hypnotic riffs, electronics and sci‑fi spoken word, a mix shaped on In Search of Space, Doremi Fasol Latido and Warrior on the Edge of Time. Line‑ups changed often; Lemmy passed through, Robert Calvert and writer Michael Moorcock fed the band’s stories and edge. On stage, Hawkwind build long, pulsing grooves, synth drift and narration, backed by immersive visuals that give their space ritual a concrete form. Across more than 35 albums, the sound has swung from rock heft to electronic currents without losing that trance‑like drive; recent releases The Machine Stops, Somnia, The Future Never Waits and Stories from Time and Space keep the thread alive. In concert, Brock leads an ensemble that treats repetition as momentum, tightening and releasing until the room locks into the ride.
