Inspiral Carpets

On 21 August 2026, Inspiral Carpets bring their organ-led Manchester indie to P J Molloy & Sons in Dunfermline. Formed in Oldham in the late 80s, the band carved out a sound where Farfisa riffs cut through driving guitar lines and tight, to-the-point songwriting. Part of the Madchester wave, they blended garage energy with a psych pop touch, building grooves that stick without fuss.

Their catalogue still carries snapshots of working-class life and restless youth: This Is How It Feels with its bittersweet pull, the propulsive lift of Saturn 5, the swirling drift of She Comes in the Fall. These songs, alongside deeper cuts from Life, The Beast Inside and Revenge of the Goldfish, shape a set anchored by rhythm, texture and clean, memorable hooks.

On stage, Inspiral Carpets keep the focus where it matters: Clint Boon’s keys up front, guitars snapping at the edges, vocals leaving space for the melodies to bite.
