The Dear Hunter

The Dear Hunter comes to Gorilla, Manchester, on 18 September 2026. Built around singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo, the Providence-rooted project began in 2005 as a solo venture before growing into a full band with a taste for long-form storytelling. Their writing moves between progressive rock, art rock and indie, weaving in orchestral pop colours and, on early releases, a trace of post-hardcore. What holds it together is narrative craft: arrangements that shift from chamber intimacy to broader, rhythmic turns while keeping the thread.

Across the Acts cycle — from Act I: The Lake South, The River North through Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional — the band has built a fictional universe that keeps unfolding. The Color Spectrum explored a different set of palettes, Migrant focused on standalone songs, and Antimai (2022) opened another storyline. On stage, this range becomes a flow that can move from sharp hooks to slow-blooming themes, carried by layered vocals, changing tempos and a tight sense of dynamics.
