Level 42

Level 42 play Indigo at The O2 in London on 4 December 2026. Formed on the Isle of Wight in 1979, the band built a sound where Mark King’s percussive bass locks with Mike Lindup’s keyboards and harmonies, moving from instrumental jazz‑funk and fusion toward melodic new wave, polished dance‑rock and synth‑pop across the 1980s. With regular studio input from Wally Badarou, their music balances tight grooves, pop‑leaning hooks and arrangements with a supple, jazz‑trained feel.

On stage today the group revolves around King, with Lindup back in the fold, and a set that connects their early instrumental roots to the wider reach they found with albums like World Machine and Running in the Family. From the bass lines that defined Love Games to the keyboard textures and vocal harmonies that became their trademark, the show draws on four decades of songwriting and interplay, reflecting a trajectory that has kept Level 42 active since their return in the 2000s.
