Info
The Proclaimers return to Oxford on 1 November 2026 at New Theatre Oxford. Twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid built their sound on close harmonies, direct lyrics and a distinct Scottish lilt. Live, they move easily between acoustic sparseness and a fuller band feel, letting folk rock, roots and pop pull together with a steady, driving energy.
Their set typically folds in songs that have travelled with them for years: the road stride of I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), the transatlantic reflections of Letter from America, and the tender lift of Sunshine on Leith. Newer chapters from Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out sit alongside these, showing how their writing keeps its focus on everyday lives, love, work and the social weather around them. The show leans on melody and clarity, with choruses that carry a room and verses that speak plainly. Decades on stage have sharpened their knack for pacing and storytelling, so this Oxford date traces their catalogue live, from early staples to more recent material, without losing the pulse that made their duo so recognisable.
