The Cure take over Blackweir Fields, Cardiff, on 24 June 2026. Led by Robert Smith, the band moves from its post‑punk roots to darker, slow‑building atmospheres, folding in pop and new wave textures. On stage, chiming guitars and hovering synths frame Smith’s unmistakable voice; setlists often swing between hushed ballads and more driving tracks, tracing a path from stark minimalism to expansive, layered sound.
Scottish outfit The Twilight Sad bring a dense blend of post‑punk, shoegaze and synths. James Graham’s vocal cuts through saturated guitars and shadowy keys, shaping songs that balance abrasion and melody while keeping a brooding, intimate pulse.
From North Wales, The Joy Formidable add a sharper, melodic charge. The trio leans into heavy guitars, elongated crescendos and a clear, tuneful voice, shifting between alt‑rock drive and psych‑tinged passages for a tight live setup alongside the headliner.
