Empire of the Sun bring their neon-hued electro-pop to Cardiff Castle, Cardiff, on 23 June 2026. The Australian duo of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore blend synth-pop, indie pop and dance into melodic songs with treated vocals and a taste for dreamlike atmospheres. On stage, they push the visual side with costumes, theatrical set pieces and a sci‑fi streak that turns the show into a pop tableau.

Their journey runs from the breakthrough of Walking on a Dream (2008) to the widescreen electronics of Ice on the Dune (2013), then the more organic shades of Two Vines (2016). In 2024 they returned with Ask That God, extending their retro-futurist palette. Live, these chapters tend to flow together, shifting from shimmering slow burns to straight-ahead dance moments, anchored by big choruses and sleek rhythms.
