Info
Shed Seven bring three decades of sharp, guitar-led indie rock to Cambridge Corn Exchange on 30 November 2026. Formed in York in 1990 around singer Rick Witter and bassist Tom Gladwin, the band cut its teeth on the UK live circuit before landing with Polydor and releasing Change Giver (1994), A Maximum High (1996) and Let It Ride (1998). Their sound sits between britpop and alternative rock: melodic riffs, direct choruses, a front-foot stage presence. After Truth Be Told (2001) and a split in 2003, the group regrouped in 2007, returning to the studio with Instant Pleasures (2017) and keeping momentum with A Matter of Time (2024) and Liquid Gold the same year, revisiting key tracks from their catalogue. On stage, the band draws from early singles through recent material, anchored by Witter’s bite and a tight rhythm section.
Also on the bill, The Academic bring indie rock from Mullingar, Ireland. Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin and brothers Matthew and Stephen Murtagh broke through with debut album Tales From The Backseat (2018), followed by Sitting Pretty (2023). Their songs balance bright melodies and rhythmic snap, with nods to the Kinks and Talking Heads, and on stage the quartet deliver their hooks with a direct, energetic approach.
