Alison Moyet

Alison Moyet brings her voice and songs to The Hexagon in Reading on 19 October 2026. First heard in the early 80s with Yazoo alongside Vince Clarke, she helped set a synth-pop template that led into a solo path blending pop, soul and blues. Alf and Raindancing introduced her sound; Hoodoo and Essex leaned into rawer songwriting; Hometime marked a return after a break; Voice explored orchestral covers; The Turn focused on crafted, story-led pieces. Working with producer Guy Sigsworth on The Minutes and Other, she pared things back to minimal, electronic production.

On stage, Moyet moves between electronic textures and more classic instrumentation, letting a contralto timbre carry both tight rhythms and slower torch songs. Sets often weave Yazoo titles with solo highlights, rearranged with a clear, contemporary touch.
