Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark land at Lincoln Castle in Lincoln on 11 June 2026. Led by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, OMD trace their synth-pop history, between straightforward melodies, electronic pulses and darker shades inherited from their early post‑punk days. From their early ’80s albums to the recent tracks from Bauhaus Staircase, their set alternates melodic pop, sweeping synth layers and electronic ballads performed with the full band, all underpinned by the precise songwriting that has defined their stage identity.
Peter Hook and The Light extend the evening by revisiting the repertoires of Joy Division and New Order. Hook’s melodic bass leads the way, supported by guitars and keyboards, for a journey that moves from taut post‑punk to new wave and brighter electronic textures, presented in finely honed live arrangements.
From Newcastle, Andrew Cushin brings a more intimate touch. A songwriter with a direct, unadorned style, he blends indie rock and electric folk, shifting between acoustic numbers and full‑band surges. His debut album, Waiting for the Rain (2023), provides the foundation for a set in which his slightly husky voice carries personal themes — family, bonds and the everyday cracks in life. Three British visions along the same clear line: melody, rhythm and a feel for the song.
