The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers, twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, bring their folk-rock songwriting back to Glasgow on 3 December 2026 at O2 Academy Glasgow. Starting out as a stripped-back acoustic duo before shifting toward a fuller band sound, they’ve kept the essentials: tight harmonies, ringing guitars and a clear Scottish lilt that anchors every refrain.

On stage, the pair move between close, two-voice storytelling and a more driving, rootsy energy with the band. The set navigates their long road from early landmarks Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith to recent material from Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out, where personal snapshots meet straight-talking social songs. The writing stays plain, direct, and built for choruses that catch fast without losing their edge.

Four decades in, The Proclaimers still play it close to the bone: melody first, words up front, no frills. A night for revisiting the songs you know and hearing how the newer ones hold their place, in the city that knows them well.
