Info

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit play Bristol Beacon in Bristol on 5 June 2026. Built around singer and songwriter Jason Isbell since the late 2000s, the band draws its roots between Muscle Shoals and Nashville, blending americana, alternative country and a touch of southern rock. After his years with Drive-By Truckers, Isbell shaped a collective where guitar lines, folk influences and denser arrangements carry stories that move from the intimate to the social.

On stage, the focus stays on songwriting and interplay. The set can shift from quiet, close-up ballads to fuller, guitar-driven stretches, always anchored by clear melodies and steady grooves. Recent chapters like The Nashville Sound (2017), Reunions (2020) and Weathervanes (2023), made with producer Dave Cobb, mark the arc of the group’s sound: melodic, narrative, and grounded in lived detail. Around Isbell, the 400 Unit bring recurring voices and textures that frame his lyrics without crowding them, letting the songs breathe and build.

It’s a concert rooted in Southern songwriting and in conversation with Nashville’s independent scene, looking straight at the present while carrying its history.
