Info
Julian Marley brings The Uprising to the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 11 June 2026, avec a roots reggae sound forged between London and Kingston. Son of Bob Marley, he’s a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who learned his craft on bass, drums, guitar and keyboards. His songwriting draws on Rastafarian spirituality and social themes, carried by steady grooves, round basslines and close vocal harmonies that keep the roots tradition in focus while opening to today’s textures.
On stage with The Uprising, the set flows through key milestones: the early Lion in the Morning, the jazz brushes of A Time and Place, the contemporary pulse of Awake and As I Am, through to Colors of Royal, which pushed his sound further without breaking from foundation. He’s crossed paths with diverse scenes, from contributing to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill to projects within the Ghetto Youths family. Live, that journey takes shape in songs built for call-and-response, lyrics about dignity and everyday resilience, and instrumental stretches where the band breathes but stays locked to the riddim, letting the message lead.
