Info
On July 18, 2026, Social Distortion plays MTELUS in Montreal. Led by singer-guitarist Mike Ness, the Orange County band has spent decades welding West Coast punk to classic American roots. The raw charge of Mommy’s Little Monster evolved into the rough-hewn storytelling of Prison Bound, then the self-titled 1990 album and the run of Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell and White Light, White Heat, White Trash — records that blended grit, melody and everyday narratives. After the passing of cofounder Dennis Danell, Ness steered the group with guitarist Jonny Wickersham, carrying the sound on Sex, Love and Rock ’n’ Roll and Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes toward lean, road-bred rock with shades of rockabilly, country and blues.
On stage, Social Distortion moves between straight-ahead punk burners, mid-tempo stompers and twang-laced ballads. Ness’s rasp and clipped guitar lines lock to a tight backbeat, swapping bite for swing when the song calls for it. The set draws across the catalogue, circling themes of redemption, detours and stubborn resilience, anchored by that unvarnished rock’n’roll pulse the band has taken from California clubs to European stages.
