Hailing from Toulouse's rock scene, SLIFT has, since the mid-2010s, traced a dense psychedelic line at the crossroads of space rock, garage, krautrock, and stoner. Led by brothers Jean and Rémi Fossat, with Canek Flores on drums, the trio moves from the short, nerve-wracking formats of Space Is The Key (2017) to longer, more narrative tracks, already oriented toward a sci-fi universe on La Planète Inexplorée (2018). With UMMON (2020), the band establishes its mark: heavy riffs, repetitive motifs, incantatory vocals, and expansive instrumental passages that build to a hypnotic intensity. ILION (2024), released on Sub Pop, pushes this massive yet melodic blend further, with more metal-leaning edges without relinquishing the psychedelic tension. On stage, SLIFT delivers these records in a continuous flow, in immersive sets where raw energy and saturated textures drive the performance.
