Faouzia

On 23 June 2026 Faouzia is scheduled to perform at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Canadian-Moroccan singer-songwriter, born in Casablanca and raised in Manitoba, builds her songs around a distinctive voice and melodies that move between pop, R&B, synth-pop and a more restrained, acoustic touch. She switches between English, Arabic and French, weaving subtle Arabic phrasings into her delivery.

As a teenager she made a name for herself with online covers and awards, followed by early singles such as "Knock on My Door" (2015) and "My Heart’s Grave" (2017). That was followed by international collaborations: "Battle" with David Guetta, a Moroccan-Arabic version of "I Dare You" with Kelly Clarkson, "Minefields" with John Legend and "Now or Never" with Martin Solveig. After the EPs "Stripped" (2020) and "Citizens" (2022), she released the album "Film Noir" in 2025.

At Melkweg Faouzia will present a selection from Film Noir alongside earlier singles and collaborations: immediate hooks, cinematic arcs of tension, and above all plenty of space for the voice that carries her songs.
