Info
The Pineapple Thief brings its finely etched progressive rock to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on 25 November 2026. Formed by singer-guitarist and songwriter Bruce Soord, the band grew from a studio-rooted project into a tight live unit known for melodic guitars, low-lit atmospheres and writing that favors dynamics over flashy solos. Across early releases, then Magnolia’s more concise turn, the group has steadily refined a balance between clarity and mood.
The arrival of drummer Gavin Harrison sharpened the rhythmic backbone on Your Wilderness, Dissolution and Versions of the Truth, pushing the music toward intricate yet readable grooves. Now touring behind It Leads to This (2024), Soord, Harrison, bassist Jon Sykes and keyboardist Steve Kitch explore a line where tension meets introspection, letting songs breathe before lifting them with layered harmonies and precise crescendos.
On stage, The Pineapple Thief moves fluidly from intimate textures to emphatic releases, drawing from two decades of material while keeping arrangements clear and focused. A set built on interplay, contrast and patient build-ups rather than spectacle.
