Info
On November 26, 2026, The Pineapple Thief bring their UK progressive rock to Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Led by singer, guitarist and songwriter Bruce Soord, the band began in 1999 as a studio project before growing into a live outfit with a catalog that folds together progressive rock, alternative rock and art rock. Their writing leans on dynamics and atmosphere rather than showy technique, with melodic guitars and a restrained, melancholic tone running from Abducting the Unicorn and Variations on a Dream to Tightly Unwound, Someone Here Is Missing and All the Wars. Magnolia tightened the format, then the arrival of drummer Gavin Harrison helped refine the rhythmic focus on Your Wilderness, Dissolution and Versions of the Truth. Now a steady quartet with Jon Sykes and Steve Kitch alongside Soord, the group continues this trajectory on It Leads to This (2024). On stage, they shape songs through gradual builds, clear contrasts and spacious textures, pulling from across their catalogue and letting the arrangements breathe.
