Pink Martini

Info

Pink Martini play Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Montréal on July 4, 2026. Formed in Portland in the 90s, this 11-piece band with lead vocals and a full rhythm and horn section mixes jazz, Latin pulses and retro pop with a multilingual twist. Their debut, Sympathique (1997), put them on the map with the refrain “je ne veux pas travailler,” and a long tour cycle followed before Hang On Little Tomato arrived. Over the years they’ve widened the palette again and again, including Get Happy in 2013 with guest turns like Philippe Katerine.

On stage, Pink Martini move easily from French chanson to rumba touches, from cinematic ballads to brassy swing. Piano drives the arrangements, strings and horns color the edges, and the vocals glide between languages without losing the groove. For this Montréal date, the set draws across their catalog, revisiting early favorites and later tracks with the tight, polished playing that comes from years on the road. It’s an invitation to travel without leaving your seat, carried by melodies that stick and rhythms built for a slow sway.
