Nous étions une armée arrives at La Cordo (Romans-sur-Isère) on 30 October 2026. An unclassifiable duo, somewhere between post-rock and post-punk, they set the spoken word adrift over nervy guitars, taut synths and electronic drum machines. It’s a voice that speaks, whispers then shouts — a blunt, direct style of writing that grabs everyday life and disrupts it, sitting between spoken-sung melancholy and bursts of vital energy. On stage, the text leads the dance, the rhythm pulses, the guitars bite, creating a light-and-dark contrast that hooks without unnecessary effects. Fans of Fauve or Kae Tempest will hear echoes, while the duo retain a signature all their own.
Opening the show, JusteNiels comes from Dieulefit with raw, embodied texts. Surrounded by his musicians, he unfolds a sensitive, direct rock in which the voice stays at the center and emotion surfaces. An intimate pen and spare arrangements that leave room for the words, immediately establishing a mood that’s raw and close to the surface.
