Love Shop

On May 1, 2026, Love Shop plays Pavillonen in Grenaa, Denmark. Formed in Copenhagen at the end of the 1980s, the Danish pop/rock group blends melodic pop, guitar-driven rock and traces of new wave. Their lyrics, in Danish, circle the city, relationships and a grounded melancholy. The group’s early core was singer and writer Jens Unmack with guitarist-producer Hilmer Hassig and harmonica player Henrik Hall. After the passing of Hassig in 2008 and Hall in 2011, Love Shop continued around Unmack, keeping a focus on songs and clear arrangements. The catalogue runs from 1990 and DK through Billeder af verden, Det eneste der duer and Go!, then a self-titled album in 1998, followed by Anti and National. The later phase returned with Frelsens hær and Skandinavisk lyst, reaffirming their mix of melody and electric textures. On stage, the band leans on precise vocals, guitars up front and hooks that carry without flourish. In Grenaa, they bring a set built on three decades of Danish pop-rock, steady in tone and close to the essentials: melody, pulse and plainspoken stories.
