Info
On June 17, 2026 at Interference in Balma, Julian Marley takes center stage for an evening devoted to roots reggae. The son of Bob Marley, born in London and split between England and Jamaica, he has shaped since his earliest days a reggae that stays true to the Jamaican heritage while incorporating contemporary touches. A multi-instrumentalist, he moves between keyboards, drums, bass and guitar, leading his band through slow-to-mid grooves where bass lines and vocal harmonies dominate. His set blends spiritual and socially conscious lyrics, roots riffs and dub interludes, with soul and dancehall inflections that broaden the palette without altering its essence. From his first albums to his most recent, including Colors of Royal, he maintains an organic and precise live approach focused on the collective.
Opening the bill is Vanupié, a standout voice of French reggae. Discovered through acoustic sessions in the Paris metro, he has built a world at the crossroads of reggae, soul and urban influences. With his guitar slung over his shoulder, he favors stripped-back formats carried by a distinctive voice and instantly catchy melodies. An ideal counterpoint before Julian Marley takes the stage.
