On 2 October 2026 Black Stone Cherry will play The Celebrate Tour at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The Kentucky band has been active since 2001 and delivers American hard rock with a mix of Southern riffs, blues energy and melodies that stick. Fronted by Chris Robertson (vocals, guitar) and Ben Wells (guitar), the quartet broke through with their self-titled 2006 debut, with “Rain Wizard” and “Lonely Train” as calling cards. That was followed by albums such as Folklore and Superstition, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea and Magic Mountain, on which the sound became rougher and broader without losing its hooks. Recent releases The Human Condition and Screamin’ at the Sky reveal a band that stays the course: raw guitars, tight grooves and choruses that work live. On stage Black Stone Cherry play straightforwardly, somewhere between heavy and rootsy, with room for dynamics and harmonies — exactly the kind of set these songs call for.
