On 15 May 2026, Ne-Yo and Akon are set to perform at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam as part of the Nights Like This Tour. Akon, born in Saint-Louis and raised between New Jersey and Senegal, made his name with Trouble, Konvicted and Freedom — R&B and hip-hop that gradually opened up to pop and club music. His distinctive, melodic vocals and Auto-Tune signature glide effortlessly across American urban and African rhythms. Since 2010 he has broadened that trajectory, with El Negreeto and Akonda serving as links between afro-pop, contemporary R&B and dancefloor energy, alongside his work as a producer and label head.
Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith in Las Vegas, started out as a songwriter for others before taking the stage himself with In My Own Words, Because of You and Year of the Gentleman. His songs focus on relationships, tightly written hooks and a blend of soulful R&B, midtempo grooves and pop. On later records he incorporates more dance and electronic hues, while continuing to write for artists such as Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson. Live, Ne-Yo is all about smooth vocals, precise timing and memorable songs, with room for fan favorites as well as more recent material.
