On 25 May 2026 Jutes will play the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Canadian musician grew up on Nirvana, Deftones, Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins — influences that echo through his blend of gritty guitars and hip‑hop textures. After early forays into hip‑hop and R&B in Toronto, he moved to Los Angeles, signed to Capitol and shifted toward pop‑punk with trap inflections. As an independent artist he redefined his direction with Ladybug (2023), a raw grunge album, followed by Sleepyhead (2024) and Dilworth (2025), both more cinematic in tone and heavier in sound, where nu‑metal, indie and a hip‑hop undercurrent converge. Live, this translates into striking contrasts: compact songs, searing riffs, angular rhythms and lyrics that remain close and unadorned. The set swings between gritty punk energy and slower, atmospheric weight, always leaving room for vulnerability amid the distortion. Jutes resists being pinned to a single style and moves effortlessly through his chapters, from grunge energy to dark, cinematic moods.
