Info
On April 27, 2026 at Théâtre Fairmount in Montreal, the cold and post-punk scene brings together Clan of Xymox, Cold Cave, Buzz Kull and Rosa Anschütz.
Formed in the early 1980s in the Netherlands around Ronny Moorings, Clan of Xymox forged a darkwave style in which icy guitars and melodic synths intersect with electronic rhythms. Having been on 4AD with the albums Xymox (1985) and Medusa (1986), they explored a more synth-pop vein at the end of the decade before returning, since the late 1990s, to a denser, more introspective sound. On stage, Moorings’s deep voice and an extensive repertoire spanning cold wave, dark pop and atmospheric rock keep the act on course.
Led by Wesley Eisold, Cold Cave emerged in 2007 between Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The project blends cold wave, post-punk and electronic pop with sparse drum machines, from the debut album Love Comes Close (2009) and Cherish the Light Years (2011) to the EP Fate in Seven Lessons (2021). With a fluid live lineup, Cold Cave delivers direct, melodic songwriting that is always nocturnal in tone.
Australian project Buzz Kull rounds out the bill with a dark, synth-driven aesthetic.
German vocalist, producer and composer Rosa Anschütz stands at the crossroads of electronic music and performance. A transmedia artist, she stages a dialogue between voice and digital textures in a stripped-down live format.
